| Seal of Approval |
This section provides information on the Seal of Approval scheme. In early 2009, the RFU launched the Whole Club Seal of Approval as a step up from the Mini & Junior Seal of Approval that has been in operation for the previous six or seven years. The M&J Seal of Approval equates with Sport England's Clubmark and successful rugby clubs automatically get awarded the latter. The following Berkshire rugby clubs have achieved M&J Seal of Approval: 1. Redingensians RFC (Oct 2003), re-accreditation Feb 2007 2. Newbury RFC (Oct 2003), re-accreditation Apr 2007 3. Windsor RFC (May 2004), Whole Club Apr 2009 4. Reading RFC (Jun 2004), re-accreditation Dec 2007 5. Reading Abbey (Sep 2004), re-accreditation Apr 2009 6. Tadley RFC (Oct 2005), re-accreditation in pipeline 7. Bracknell RFC (Mar 2007) 8. Maidenhead RFC (Sep 2008) The other two clubs with youth sections who are working towards SoA are: 9. Aldermaston RFC - target Apr 2010 10. Hungerford RFC - target Apr 2010 Obviously, M&J SoA only applies to the ten clubs in Berkshire that have a youth section. The Whole Club SoA is relevant to all 15 Section 1 clubs in Berkshire. In April 2009, Windsor RFC became the first rugby club in England to achieve Whole Club Seal of Approval (WC SoA). Berkshire COunty RFU would like to see at least 3 of our leading clubs achieve WC SoA by the end of the current season.
