This was the day of the top-of-the-table clash between Maidenhead and Reading watched by a large crowd at Braywick. The visitors had the early ascendancy and went into the break 10-7 ahead. But a great display by Maidenhead in the second half saw them score 20 unanswered points to run out 27-10 winners. This leaves Reading, Cheltenham and Maidenhead only separated by points difference at the top but Maidenhead have a game in hand over the other two. On Saturday the Club also hosted the annual Youth coaches' lunch. This year 65 qualified coaches joined the lunch and it was fitting that over half the 1st team players on Saturday had come through our Youth system. We were also privileged to be joined by Steve Cullen, Chair of Berkshire Youth Rugby, who presented the Club with the RFU “Seal of Approval” quality accreditation. This award recognises the very high standards attained within our Youth program but also the incredible work completed by Ed Parrott over the last two years collating the evidence to support this standard. On behalf of everybody at the Club – Thank You Ed.
