Under Coaching Contacts in the home page you will find all the contact information for the people who run the County Youth section in terms of Schools of Rugby (SoR), which was introduced in 2007/8 and representative rugby.
We are grateful for the support of Neal Hatley, Justin Bishop, David Williams and their colleagues at the London Irish Academy; Gavin Williams, Dan Whiteman and Clive Cashell of the RFU. We are also grateful to the clubs and schools who host us during the season.
These webpages will provide as much timely information as possible about the selection process, the dates and timing of the assessment & development sessions and fixtures.
An assessment form that is common across all age groups can be found in this section. This form should increase the transparency of the process and facilitate constructive communication and discussion between club/school coaches & parents and the county set-up.
Another development for the 2009/10 season is that the coaches would try watch as many of the U15s club sides in the Berkshire Youth League and also able to assess the U15s who attended the SoR sessions during the season held at the London Irish Academy in Sunbury.
Other decisions made regarding the season:
(a) U13s SoR will be introduced for a squad of 30-40. Seven coaches are in place. There will not be an U13s County squad.
(b) U14s, U15s and U16s will just put out an one squad.
(c) All seven SoR sessions will take take place in daylight hours - on Sundays. County training will also predominantly be on a Sunday with most fixtures on Sundays as well.
