South West U18s Squad Six Berkshire players travelled to Hartpury in January for the final SW U18s trial. Four of the six were successful in being selected for the SW squad. The selected players are Will Eversfield, Ed Hoadley, Elko Titcombe De Bie and Jamie Tolan. The two Berkshire players who were not selected, Charlie Wicks and Craig Parker, are U17s who were trialling a year early and this experience will give them an excellent chance of progressing next year when they are U18s.The SW squad will now have a weekend training camp in Bristol, a warm up match vs Exeter Chiefs and further training sessions at Taunton and Hartpury before the Divisional Festival at the end of February. Congratulations to the players, their parents and all of the U18s coaching and support staff on an excellent performance.

Maidenhead U21s v Redingensians U21s A great way to end the year. On New Year's Eve Maidenhead U21s hosted Redingensians U21s at Braywick in front of a sizeable crowd. The Redingensians Manager, Bill Gornall-King commented 'I felt it was an enjoyable game of rugby – full on but played in the right spirit and as several parents remarked it was great to see the players playing with smiles on their faces. Some of these lads had been playing against each other as well as alongside each other with County at various age groups for many years. Four had played together at Redingensians since they were five years old.' Congratulations to both clubs for making this happen and Berkshire RFU hopes this fixture will be repeated and that other challenges between Berkshire U21s sides will be organised in the future.
