Bracknell U17s progress to National U17s Plate Semis.

6th April 2009
By Steve Cullen

On Sunday 5th April 2009, in the Cup competition, Newbury narrowly lost to Exeter Chiefs 18-14. In the Plate, Bracknell defeated Chinnor 30-19. So congratulations to Bracknell who go onto the National Semi finals to be played at Henley RFC on the 19th April 2009.

23rd March 2009:
Both Newbury (Cup) and Bracknell (Plate) won to go onto the last 16 of their respective competitons. Redingensians (Cup) went out 22-3 against Exeter Chiefs who now meet Newbury - who beat Cheltenham 25-19. Bracknell beat Penryn 12-8 and go onto play Chinnor who, although they lost against Ivybridge 22-17, go through as Ivybridge conceded because they are unavailable for the next round.

Note from 8th March first round:
Twelve OBB sides entered this competition, three each into the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield. In the Cup, Berkshire had all three sides, but unfortunately Maidenhead and Redingensians were drawn against each other. Redingensians won 17-5 and go onto play Exeter Chiefs. Newbury beat Redruth 28-0 and now face Cheltenham.
In the Plate Bracknell beat Yatton 18-5 and go on to play Penryn. In the Shield, Windsor went out 17-0 to Milton Keynes.
Across all OBB  clubs, there are still eight surviving of which 3 are Berkshire clubs (Oxon 3 of which Oxford and Oxford Harlequins both had walkovers, Bucks 2).  Devon also have three clubs (Dorset 2, Cornwall 1, Gloucs 1, Somerset 1).
