BYL Overview
Welcome to the Youth Leagues section of Berkshire County RFU's website.
A second division for U13s has been added for 2010/11.
The only rule change is to 7.2. - to adhere to RFU Regulations, no player will be allowed to play down, but the number of players allowed to play up an age group is increased to 4.
The BYL section for 201/11 with fixtures, results and tables will be live in the next few days but the fixtures can be found on the Youth Leagues home page.
With a mix of A and B squads at U13s to U16s, the fixtures plan has tried to ensure that a club's A and B squads play on the same date wherever possible so that there is transparency of the players. Clubs who cannot field pure B squads are encouraged to arranged friendly fixtures where possible with a view to entering a B squad the following season. As it is untenable to have a club's A and B squads in the same division, there will not be playoffs between the top of division 2 and the bottom of division 1. In subsequent years the decision of which division a club's team(s) enters will be their choice.
It might be an idea for the winners of division 1 at each age group to play the champions of our neighbouring counties at the end of the season?

The Berkshire Youth League comprises teams from nine Berkshire clubs across U13s to U16s. In order to reduce any possible conflict with schools rugby, this club competition does not commence until early December.
The full Rules and Regulations were updated for the 2009/10 season by a committee comprising of the Chairman of the Disputes Committee, Sarah Manning, aided by Andy Croy and Alan Jones and can be found in the sub menu of this page.

When the fixtures are live on the website League Manager, the following features can be used. By clicking a club's name you can find information about the club's address, contact information, website link, Multimap link for directions and name and contact information for their Youth Chairman, Fixtures Secretary etc. If you click, for example, Windsor U13s, you will also get the Head Coach and Manager contact information for that team.

Following a match, both teams should email their results to the League Administrator, Steve Cullen and to Janette Tichband (details below)
within 24 hours of the match finishing. Please supply the score broken down into number of tries, conversions, penalties and drop goals.
