Job Title: Boys Age Grade Chairperson
Responsible to: Berkshire Executive Committee
Person Specification:
- The candidate should have relevant knowledge & experience of age grade rugby. Knowledge of Boys rugby desirable.
- That the candidate has experience of a role/s at club, university or school level.
- To hold a current DBS certificate.
- Will have completed a Safeguarding Play it Safe course.

Key Tasks
- To champion the growth and development of Age Grade Rugby in the Berkshire County RFU Member Clubs.
- Identifying the needs related to the Age Grade Game (Under 7s to Under 18s).
- Develop an action plan based on the identified needs.
- Providing accurate and detailed information on age grade rugby within Berkshire on monthly basis.
- Representing youth rugby at Berkshire Exec and working to constantly improve youth rugby with the help of the Berkshire Exec in Berkshire across all clubs.
- Putting a meaningful and balanced budget together each season for Berkshire youth rugby. This involves trying to calculate the potential costs involved in each programme, working out whether RFU funding will cover the costs and then calculating the additional funds required to support each programme effectively.
- Secure extra funding where appropriate.
- Liaising regularly with CB Treasurer regarding donations/RFU funding and approving invoices expenses and allocating to correct budget.
- Setting up, chairing, and taking minutes of bi-monthly Berkshire Youth Chairs group.
- Negotiation and agree facilities hire rates with clubs for all training sessions for U17 and U18 boys’ rugby and ensuring sufficient funds to cover this within budget.
- Approval of coach’s expenses for all training and matches where appropriate.
- Approval of all Physio and pitch hire invoices for all training and matches.
- Work Collaboratory with Schools Liaison Manager, Competitions Manager, Head Coach & Girls Youth Chair.
- Assist in developing Age Grade Calendar & attend relevant age grade meetings where appropriate.
