A couple of weeks back many of you will have heard about a tragic accident that happened in Avonmouth, Bristol where 4 people sadly lost their lives. One of these individuals was Luke Wheaton, a 16-year-old player connected to North Bristol RFC and previously the Bristol Bears Academy.
Luke’s mother, Paula is also an active member of the NBRFC Walking Rugby team. North Bristol were seeking a show of solidarity from the rugby community at this sad time, so Reading RFC Walking Rugby responded with a clapping tribute at their Tuesday morning session.
The North Bristol club believe that the rugby community really is one big extended family who are there to support each other. We hope that our gesture offers some comfort and solace to Paula and the family.
