RAMS have been named as England Rugby’s National League team of the month following their super September start to the season.
Seb Reynolds’ side collected a maximum 20 points from a possible 20 with bonus-point wins at Cambridge (34-28) and Plymouth Albion (26-19), along with home successes against Tonbridge Juddians (24-13) and Leeds Tykes (29-11).
And that form has been recognised by the sport’s national governing body, which awarded the gong to Rams ahead of the other 46 clubs playing at Levels Three and Four.
The other teams of the month were unbeaten South West Premier leaders Exeter University (Level Five), Bristol-based South West One West outfit Chew Valley (Level Six), Anselmians (Level Seven) who play in North West One, Cheshire One side Upper Eden (Level Eight) and Barnsley (Levels 9-12, Yorkshire Three).
Meanwhile Esher back row Harvey Scott was named player of the month after scoring a remarkable six tries in just two games.
With last weekends tight win over fellow fast starters Rosslyn Park the National Division One League looks to be a great one to follow.
