Berkshire County rugby U18 kicked off the county season with their first South West Divisional game at Hartpury against Dorset & Wiltshire U18s.
With a strong wind at their backs the Berks side started strongly and were rewarded after a strong drive with a try by Mikey Duda..
Further pressure was rewarded with tries in the first half by Tom David who helped himself to a brace and a great try by Harry Loveland after some great work by the forwards and tip on from Will Conington. D&W came into the game towards the end of the first half and were rewarded with a perfectly executed chip and chase.
HALFTIME 20 – 5
Both teams made several changes at halftime and Berkshire were made to work with some great defensive work to keep Dorset & Wilts out. Berkshire were broken with a strong set of phases which resulted in a score in the corner.
Run the game turned into aa real middle of the park tussle with both teams defending well. With a few minutes remaining Berkshire were able to break the lines and Mikey Duda scored to get his own double.
FULLTIME 25 -10 (No kicks were taken)
Berkshire put on a very positive display and will return in two weeks when they face Gloucestershire RFU U18s again at Hartpury on the 19th December 2021.
