BERKSHIRE RFU U20 FIGHT OFF ESSEX RFU U20 TO REACH COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Berkshire RFU U20 came from behind and then fought off a valiant effort by Essex RFU U20 to take the match 24-21.

Essex pushed out to 21-5 lead with Berkshire managing a score just before half time to bring it back to 21-10. Berkshire then started the stronger in the 2nd half and pulled it back to 21-17 and then managed to take the lead for the first time since the beginning of the match 21-24

There then followed an onslaught by Essex where they camped on the Berkshire try line up until the last minute before the ball was stolen after several pick and goes and Berkshire cleared the ball as the final whistle blew.

The reward for their victory will be a final against Northumberland who saw off Durham 38-22 in their semi final. The teams will face each other at Worcester Warriors Sixways Stadium on the 1st May 2022 (KO TBC)
