World Rugby have announced the Women’s 15s Dream Team of the Year and Berkshire based Reading RFC are so proud to have not one but two players represented in the World XV for 2021 in Abby Dow and Sarah Bern who both played at Reading Girls during their early years.
Six nations are represented in the Dream Team with Canada, Italy, New Zealand and Wales each providing one player in a selection dominated by England and France, the two most successful teams in women’s rugby in 2021. With a total of 539 caps across the Dream Team, France provides six players, one more than England (5) with all four Women’s 15s Player of the Year nominees making the cut. (Source – Rugby Onslaught)
Although France have had six players included in the dream team, compared to England’s five, the English did get the upper hand against Les Bleus on two occasions this year.
The Red Roses have gone on to beat New Zealand twice, Canada and the USA since then, which extended their remarkable winning streak to 18 games. (Source – Pundit Arena.com)

Rugby World’s 100 Best Players in the World Right Now – Top 20
In the Worlds top 100 players (Men and Women) for 2021 Abby Dow is also the highest ranking women player coming in at number 11 above such notable players including; Beauden Barrett, Jerry Tuwai, Eben Etzebeth, Courtney Lawes.
Congratulations to both women and for pushing women’s rugby forward from grass roots community rugby, to Premier 15’s to International to world recognition.
