Job Title: Schools Liaison Officer
Responsible to: Berkshire RFC Girls & Boys Youth Chairs
Person Specification:
- Has an understanding of how rugby in schools works and has links that can be beneficial to the role – perhaps currently or previously a teacher.
- Enhanced DBS checked or obtain this after appointment.
- Has an understanding of Data Privacy (GDPR) regulations and will commit to confidentiality in all aspects of the work.

- Is self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic towards player recruitment and Rugby Union in general.
- Is able to lead people with ability to create a positive working environment for all stakeholders including teachers, clubs and all volunteers.
- Punctual, reliable and personally well organised.
- Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels.
- Sets high standards of personal accountability and responsibility.
- Upholds RFU values.
Key Tasks
- Develop relationships with education institutes. Identify and approach local schools, colleges who may be interested in opportunities to get children playing rugby. Manage the relationships both within the CB, the schools union, local clubs and schools/colleges.
- Adapt a plan to approaching education institutes to develop a schools link for player recruitment and monitor and report on the success of the relationships.
- Ensure the CB is aware of opportunities.
- Ensure clubs and the local community share resources.
- To increase player participation in clubs and schools in Berkshire in both the boys and girls game.
