The England Rugby Developing Player Programme (ERDPP) is the RFU initiative that succeeded the Schools of Rugby (SoR) programme in 2013/2014. Since 2014/15 the RFU Elite Rugby Department has given the overall responsibility for the format, coaching structure and delivery of DPP to the local Premiership Academy – in Berkshire, this is London Irish.
London Irish are also partnered with our neighbouring counties of Hampshire and Middlesex to deliver their boy’s ERDPP programmes.
Teachers and club coaches are invited to provide nominations for the ERDPP each season for age groups U14, U15 and U16. The programme is intended to complement a player’s current rugby provision, be that through club or school, and give access to high-quality core skill development sessions run by ERDPP coaches provided by London Irish.
Players attending Berkshire ERDPP assessment days must meet one of the three following criteria:
- Attend a school in Berkshire
- Play club rugby in Berkshire
- Live (or be born) in Berkshire
