It is with regret that Reading RFC announced that Paul Dow, Reading RFC ex Girls manager and coach has sadly suddenly passed away last week. Paul arrived at Reading RFC with his daughter Ruth followed by Abby who also joined the girls team when she was old enough.
Paul was always on hand to help out and quickly became the U15’s girls manager and continued to help the girls section for the next 8 seasons, also helping with coaching whenever called upon. Previously Paul, Nicky and the girls were members at Maidenhead RFC while the girls played mini rugby, a rugby man through and through.
Paul will be remembered for his cheerful smile and the love of his girls, following them and their rugby careers around the country. Abby is currently playing at Wasps and still put on her shirt on Saturday and scored a brace of tries for her dad against Italy in the Women’s Six Nations.
Our thoughts across the county are with Nicky, Chris, Ruth, Abby, family and friends at this difficult time.
