To support the development of referees in the county BSRFUR have put together two training events kindly hosted by the following clubs;

Maidenhead RFC – 23rd and 30th November 2021, 7-9.30pm each night

Tadley RFC – 7th and 14th December 2021, 7-9.30pm each night

It is anticipated that delegates shall leave with an understanding of…

The true role, and expectations of a rugby referee

Pre-match

In game

Post-match

• The laws as a framework & how to use them

• Confidence to have a go at refereeing

The event is aimed at volunteers and teachers yet to complete the England Rugby Refereeing Award (ERRA), however it may also serve as a refresher for those who have.

Attendance at both evenings is essential to maximise learning.

More importantly, it is not a replacement for the ERRA and we would expect all aspiring referees to complete the RFU course as they are scheduled.

To register please complete the online registration form below;

In preparation we would ask all delegates to;

1. Complete the World Rugby Law Exam https://www.world.rugby/the-game/laws/home,

2. Complete the RFU Headcase e-Learning modulehttps://www.englandrugby.com/participation/playing/headcase,

3. Familiarise yourself with Regulation 15 – Age Grade Rugby – Age Grade Rules of Play https://www.englandrugby.com/governance/rules-and-regulations/regulations.

Please come prepared to take part in outdoor practical activity which will include small sided games. In addition, please bring your own notepad and writing materials.

We look forward to seeing you.
